TutuMan, Tri Pounamu and the awesome team at from Podiatry Med offering a two hour educational lecture and a practical session for those ready to run in 2017! Whether you run or hybrid, are a beginner or seasoned runner you will get something out of this wise group!

Educational Lecture
 Basic running mechanics.
 Modifiable risk factors for injury, i.e. foot type and shoe suitability.
 Lower limb strength imbalances.
 Lower limb flexibility imbalances.
 Training loading – understanding body limits.
 Developing a training habit.

Practical Session
 The teaching of various exercises to manage injury risk and help participants to have an enjoyable and sustainable exercise journey.

Proposed Outcome
 It is expected that participants will develop a personal understanding of how simple interventions can help to achieve significant personal and group goals.This session will be presented by Head Physiotherapist Elaine Schou and Senior Podiatrist Bruce Baxter, and will include some power point presentations mixed with practical participation.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
This event is open to for all ages and abilities. Please ensure all members of a family have a ticket.

What can I bring into the event?
We recommend you wear comfortable clothing and footwear for the practical session.

XRace tickets are just $60 per whanau of two (one adult and one child) or free to registered Tri Pounamu who have completed our quality of life whanau survey.

We are excited to have whānau passes to this great event being held at New Brighton on March 5th at 10am!   TRIPOUNAMU STILL HAS WHANAU PASSES TO GIVE AWAY.

All you need to do is identify as Maori and complete our 15 minute quality of life survey https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/QualityofLife2017 for us and we will cover the costs of up to two adults and two children (6-14years) (per survey) to enter the race!

XRACE is a mystery adventure race where parent and child aged 6-14 race together, locate and complete 10 mystery challenges; racing the clock and all the other family teams with the fastest and luckiest crowned XRACE champion. XRACE challenges are where we deliver the magic – all designed to strengthen family bonds and deliver bucket-loads of self-esteem to our kids.
